Put on bigger shoes

When I was a kid I used to love putting on my dad’s shoes. They were so BIG. I would put them on then walk around the ask “as if” I were my dad. Little did I know then that I was really wanting to grow up and be like my dad and wear shoes as big as him. Then not too long ago it hit me. We should be putting on bigger shoes ALL THE TIME.

Think about it. There is nothing more comfortable than a pair of shoes that you have broken in and fit just right. They are your favorite. However, if you are not careful you become so comfortable that you never try on NEW ones. You miss out on all the new fashion simply because you are not willing to try on something new when you have perfectly comfortable ones. We get this way in life too. We just get into our normal comfortable routine and settle. We just keep wearing the same old habits and never really grow into new bigger/better ones.

So make it a habit to try on new shoes but also BIGGER ones. My son now is just as amazed with putting on my shoes and walking around as if he is me. What new things do you need to try that current do not “FIT” you but that you could grow into? What old habits do you need to get out of so you can try new ones on? Step into your bigger shoes and start waling around until you grow into them.

Grow into bigger shoes of grace and faithful action.

Good word David. You are exactly right man, we must constantly being growing in our knowledge of Grace that results in faithful action. However, it seems that so many people just miss this because they are so comfortable where they are.
